"I realy liked the laptop and it4s features.
The only thing that is missing and poor is NEW VIDEO DRIVERS from Toshiba, because NVIDIA are not supporting this Qosmio model. As you must expect, myself and other who bought this laptop needs to have the latest video drivers, because there4s a lot of bugs that are fixed by new drivers versions. We like to game and this is all about video performance."

"This laptop is great for gaming under Vista 64 bit. If you try to run under 32 bit, it will not recognize 2.5 GB of RAM and it will only use 1.5GB which is not even enough to run Vista. If you need a 32 bit OS, get a Satellite model."

"I received the laptop with the Atheros wireless card dysfunctional, the on/off switch being easily moved roughly 1/8th of an inch or so, obviously an issue. The wireless capability being very greatly impaired rendering it more or less useless. I know an individual who has the same series laptop who had display driver issues straight out of the box as well. The laptop has impressive performance and capabilities otherwise that one major problem, the Nvidia 9800T video cards and processor handling anything I could throw at it."

"Toshiba advertise this laptop as the ultimate game experience and they havent even bother to update the graphic drivers since octomber-november 2008,almost a year ago.so if someone wants this laptop for games just forgot the new games.only old ones.and cause of the chipset you cant update the drivers from the nvidia site that their drivers are in version 8.6 and qosmio is 7.1.5.
If i knew that toshiba never updates their drivers i wouldnt have bought it.the battery life is extremly low.the good things is that the laptop is quite light so make it easy to carry.but not the same for the adaptop that is heavier than the laptop.for perfomance is quite slow.it needs at least 3min to start and load the desktop.but exept the big problem of the graphic drivers that automatically makes it not a game laptop is quite good for surfing and multimedia."

Recommendation to Toshiba: Please work in give us multiple displays at the same time. I mean..we need hybrid drivers from nvidia compatible with this equipment. Thanks."

"Performs incredibly well with Unreal Tournament 3 and all graphics-intensive games I have. The speakers are very loud, in fact, the loudest I've ever heard on a laptop. It takes forever to actually get it up and running after first turning it on because it installs programs and drivers by restarting like 20 times. No laptop case fits this properly, it is MASSIVE. I would not suggest this if you travel with your laptop every day like I do unless you have a very well padded case (It's not flimsy, just so heavy the bag can get damaged). With the charger and laptop in the case it weighs over 20 pounds. Sadly, you cannot use this with in a dual monitor setup because of the hybrid-SLI. The battery life is about an hour or more, because o the three Ge-Force graphics cards."

"I remember my first thought when i saw this laptop was to doubt its claims for hardware and pricing. Even to the point of calling customer support and ASKING them "what is the catch" with this laptop. There isn't one, you can stop dreaming, this laptop is NO joke and is absolutely the BEST investment you can make for a desktop replacement. It was a STEAL when i first got it in Nov '08 at under 2k when EVERYTHING else i found had far far less than what they are offering here, for over twice the price.
If you are serious and want a multi-purpose, gaming laptop. This is the last place you need to stop on your search and BUY it.
Seriously, this gives my desktop a run for its money, and i built it a few months before this! it runs XP64 with 4gb (2x2gb sticks) Mushkin PC2-6400 DDR2 800HZz, an Intel E-8400, and 2x XFX 8800GT 512MB in SLI and this thing beats the pants off it!
I now rarely use my desktop and just use this, because it works better! seriously, just buy it, you'll be happy you did."

"I am a (45 year old) student (not a "gamer"), so I realise this might look like overkill (that's what my son said :-P ). But I really shopped for a long time to find such a freakin' cool laptop that is hardy, reliable, & can MULTITASK like crazy, especially when I'm researching & writing papers for my finals.
Without a doubt -- this Qosmio really does the job! It has every feature I could think of and more, including BlueTooth, WebCam, SD card reader, and along with Wi-Fi there's even a dial-up modem. Best of all, there's no shortage on memory or processing speed! I know I can easily have several windows open for internet (w/3 dozen tabs open!), including a couple of large PDFs downloading so I can writing in the WORD & EXCEL windows I have open. Meanwhile, I'm editing photos in Picasa for music I'm ripping to Windows Media Player, whilst crisp, streaming video plays in the background, and the USB port charges my cell phone. Heck - I might even have a JAVA game running, too! It still runs cool and readily manages everything I ask of it...
No problem!
Sure, this laptop is bigger & heavier than most laptops, and I wish the (1.5-2+hrs) battery life were longer, but what a trade-off for such a dependable, sleek deal as this Qosmio!
(...And did I tell you how music from those amazing Harmon Kardon speakers fills the room with sound to make my heart skip a beat every time??)
WHAT A JOY!"

"This machine is wonderful! Delivery was excellent, the product works as advertised and really blazes. The only complaint I could register is with the MS Vista OS (I'm normally a Mac power user). For the price and extras I don't think anybody else can touch this machine. I purchased this primarily for games and it really leaves nothing to be desired as far as functionality, it's got just about every bell and whistle you can think of. I've read other reviews complaining about the battery life, and I think for a machine this powerful you couldn't really expect more ... just buy some extra batteries if you've got a problem with it. I've also seen complaints about the color scheme, but I LOVE IT! It's striking and sleek as any good game machine should be. I sincerely love this machine and am simply awed by it."

"I found that Toshiba missed out on a couple of important features on probably all these RED Qosmios: 1. These do NOT allow you to install Linux like the G series do. 2. Toshiba does not tell you that this has a second bay to install a second internal SATA hard drive. It is a nice feature i found after 3 months. 3. The HDMI software does not work properly as it should and Tos should provide a patch asap. These are the reasons for 4 stars and not 5."

The only pains were initial to use my old mouse port etx. For some resson the new screen flickered and it seemed thst I had sticky keys. These problems all disappeared within the first two days.
I'm still batteling to open PDF's. I have Acrobat downloaded and suspect it or vista or norton.
Once I have this sorted my new computer will be a dream!
I'll definately buy one again."

"Great performance however some of us are corporate officers with a secret addiction to gaming and I imagine most of us have jobs. This is so unprofessional in appearance that I had to buy a Lenovo as my at work machine. Makes for a pain as my intention of getting a gaming laptop was to consolidate my 4 or so desktops into one portable machine where EVERYTHING could reside so I'm not driving more then I'm working to retrieve that file or document forgotten for that meeting tomorrow that needs tweaking. So now I have the same issue but now its just dragging two laptops around. It is not only the lid, I thought I could get past that, so if youre thinking that you are mistaken, the worst part if the ugly cheap appearing crystal red plastics under the lid, like around the speakers. They need to use a more traditional color scheme to satisfy the majority of customers or offer an industrial ThinkPad scheme for 'the rest of us.' I am seeing many people with this same complaint hopefully they listen and get this right next time. Hey we are not all teenage gamers and 'the rest of us' tend to have a larger budget, hint hint Toshiba."

"The Qosmio is a hot laptop!
This laptop is great, the speed is amazing. I had a desktop built for me, and it has no comparison to this laptop. I bought the smaller mem one, but that does not make a difference. This thing is sleek, and has lots fo speed. The music sounds great with all the speakers and sub woofer, great surround quality with the movies that I watch.
I am the graphic design industry and this thing rocks with all the software that I have to use. I can have every program that I use in Adobe open at the same time with no problems, even while playing music and/or movies.
The games I play are great on this machine as well. The graphics card works so well. There is no kinks once so ever.
I would definitley recommend this to a friend.
The only drawback is that it is a heavy little guy to be carrying around all the time. I hate toting it around to work and back. The battery life stinks as well, but what can you exepct from such a large laptop! I am not concerned about the battery life, it is my desktop replacement, so it is basically stationary.
Good luck."

So when I saw Qosmio I was a little Skeptical at first but I thought I would give it a try; I was amazingly pleased by the performance and stability of the Qosmio and I may even buy the higher end model and give my wife the original model I bought. I love being able to have performance and quality without having to clutter up my desk area with a huge tower and noisy desktop system."

"Dislikes:
- No Blueray included
- No Color choices (could have used an express-on type of cover replacement)
- Other brands with such spec.s might offer 1TB capacity
- Low-life battery (familiar in most gaming laptops)
- No fancy backpack or theme-like accessories (Should've been there for such a design)
- Big-sized power adapter
- Could've had a unique Toshiba Illuminated keyboard theme or probably a back-led soft-touch keyboard (might reduce battery life more but again few people game in a desert!)
Likes:
- One of a kind and attractive design
- Amazing Performance
- Fast rendering on games and 3d applications
- Pretty good for both over-all designing and gaming
- Unique new and young look for Toshiba
- Very good price-value (on this model ONLY, I might reconsider the price of X305-Q708 if it had a Quad Core processor, 4 GB ram and 1TB HD along with the rest of available spec.s)
Otherwise its a very good experience to own such a piece of work from Toshiba."

But this one stroked us by its features for price; also it did with flaming back too. It is really pain to the eye.
If only they add other colors perhaps stylish designs, I love the design of x205-sli... but prefer the 15" Qosmio f50/ f55 smart voguish black design.
Maybe I wait till they change or custom the color or add same or near same features to other models."

"After researching Technical specifications, Reliability, and Price of over 20 laptops including (customize yourself'ers) the X307-Q706 has everything you'd want for the price without going through the guilt of buyers remorse in wake of your purchase. Whether you're interested in a Laptop for Gaming, Multimedia Entertainment or Professional use... this thing has you covered. I desperately want to, and would buy one if not for the FLAMING COLOR SCHEME. As Laptops go, I would be seen using it in a number of settings, but not every Gamer is a 14 y/o who wants to show off their privileged youth. Black, Grey, a Darker Red without Flames... any other color/design would suffice to appeal to more consumers; which is the only flaw... I plan on saving my money for the time being in hopes they'll have the option available in the near future. If not, I wouldn't mind paying $500 more for a "quieter" case and 5 gigs more HD space from a different manufacturer."
