"I bought this to replace an older model Toshiba laptop, which I had nothing but great things to say about. I was surprised to find this newer, beefier model performed so significantly slower. It seems 2G of RAM is not enough to handle several applications with Windows Vista. I disabled some memory-using features and had quite a bit of improvement. I am now without some of the neat little things that makes Vista Vista, but at least the performance is reasonable. I just ordered some more RAM and I am hoping with that I will least have matched the performance of my 1G memory laptop from 2005."

"If I leave my laptop on overnight in the "sleep" mode, the next morning I have to shut it down completely in order to get on the internet. I can't even go to "restart" and get back on the net. That is a real pain. Not liking where the port for the battery is plugged in either. It's on the right hand side and the cord is always in the way of the mouse. Yes, I use a mouse. Not a great design. Also the latch to open the laptop is cumbersome. It feels imbalanced as you use the latch and open the top."

"Like having the db9 serial port for consoling to equipment, also lik the features of the laptop, very good with programs I use to troubleshoot the network. The only thing I don't like is the VIsta operating system real pain and drags the functions to a crawl. But I know you can't control that. will downgrade to XP Pro."
